Why do we need your pat testing Solihull service?

The Electricity At Work Regulations 1989 states that “As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger’ and provides that electrical equipment shall be ‘maintained in a condition suitable for that use’.

These regulations place a duty upon employers, landlords and owners to ensure that all electrical systems and equipment are regularly inspected and (if need be) repaired to ensure that they are safe to use.

It is thought that the fire at Gallery Candles in New Road, Rubery in April 2017 was caused by a faulty electrical appliance. This may have been prevented by PAT Testing.

Insurance companies and accreditation bodies such as CHAS and SafeContractor now demand a valid PAT Test certificate in order for you to be accredited or insured.

Does PAT Testing need to be done by an electrician?

The short answer is no. PAT Testing can be done by anyone as long as it is done by a competent person. At Redlander PAT Testing Ltd, all employees have completed the 2377 City & Guilds In-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment course.

Why use Redlander PAT Testing Solihull?

Yes you could pay somebody in your company to complete the course, at around 400 pounds. You then need to buy the PAT Testing equipment as well as all the various connectors and leads, as well as the labels, replacement fuses, plug sockets etc. At around 500-600 pounds.

Then you have to allow that employee time to PAT Test all of your equipment. A good PAT Tester can do 20-25 items an hour if they are doing it properly. So if your office has 2000 items plus, it is going to take that employee a fair bit of time to complete and take them away from their normal job for a number of weeks.

Or by hiring Redlander PAT Testing Ltd, you get a professional PAT Tester, who will inspect and test all your portable electrical appliances, carry out minor repairs free of charge and will operate with minimum disruption to your business.

All for a reasonable and fair price. At the end you will receive a certificate to state that all of your items have been tested, and we can also provide an equipment register along with test results if so required.
